One Eyed - 2017 Grade QH Gelding

The one eyed horse we took a chance on. This guy came to us from a client asking if anything could be done with him, if he could have a future. He was deemed too dangerous to put time into by past trainers. We didn’t think we could offer him much either, but we spent a little time with him and he surprised us in everything we asked. So we took him home.

Missing his left eye, and not having much for previous training, we weren’t sure if this guy had much more in his future than being a pasture ornament. Turns out having one eye doesn’t bother him at all. He’s a steady, honest guy and will go wherever you point him without a fuss. He only asks that you give him his face if he has to step over deadfall or barbed wire.

This horse is as GENTLE as they come. Will meet you at the gate. Is the same horse even after a year off. He’s been roped off of. 1 man doctored. likes to trot out. He is STOUT. Our most muscled guy in the whole herd. Goes nice barefoot. Easy to be around. The biggest thing is being aware that he can’t see you if you are standing on his left. So if he turns to look at something his nose might bump into you. He appreciates being led on the off-side.
